About the Designer:
Erik Mornils (1900–1974) was a Swedish ceramist who worked at Nittsjö Keramik from 1925 to 1967. Born and living in Rättvik, he began his career as a decorator at Nittsjö and later became the company's first designer.
Mornils is particularly known for having introduced the popular Allmogeserie, which is still produced today. During his time at Nittsjö, Mornils created a number of outstanding works. His works are often characterized by a combination of traditional craftsmanship and functional design, which has made them sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of Swedish ceramics.
