About the Designer:

Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) is one of the most well-known representatives of the illustrious Swedish ceramic design of the 20th century. He was the artistic leader for the Rorstrand factory in the 1940s and 1950s. Nylund is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.

Gunnar Nylund, born in Copenhagen in the early 1960s, began producing stoneware for Nymölle Keramiska Fabrik in Lyngby. Later, upon returning to Linköping in 1964, he worked as a freelancer in Rörstrand. His stoneware from that period sometimes took on a more industrial feel, like the one presented here.
